Stanwick Primary School celebrates 'GOOD' Ofsted rating

Pupils and staff at Stanwick Primary School are celebrating after receiving a ‘GOOD’ rating from Ofsted.

During a recent inspection by the education watchdog, the school was praised for providing “a calm, friendly atmosphere in which to learn”, and commenting that “the curriculum is broad and balanced” and “the full range of subjects is taught.” “Senior leaders have an accurate view of the school. They have wasted no time in bringing about improvements to teaching and leadership”.

The school is part of the Nene Education Trust. The inspector noted that “Trustees and members of the local governing body demonstrate high ambition for the school. They have provided effective support for leaders this year”.

For any parents considering Stanwick for their children, they can be assured by the inspector’s comment that “Most parents speak highly of the work of the school and would recommend the school to others”. “Children get off to a good start in the early years. The quality of teaching is good in the Reception class and the children are well placed to start Year 1.”

“Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported well to learn alongside their peers”.

Matt Coleman, Executive Principal, and Mrs Chloe Neild, Associate Principal are delighted with the outcome of the inspection. “There is a lot for Stanwick Primary to be proud of from this report. It is a reflection of the hard work and dedication that they have shown towards improving the learning that is offered to the children. “

In addition Mrs Neild said: “Pupils were recognised for their fantastic behaviour and the calm and friendly atmosphere of the school they contribute to. I am delighted that they have been recognised for their efforts and hard work that they put in to their learning each day.”

“The Nene Education Trust, that we are a part of, were praised for the support they provide and the high ambition that they and the governors have for the school.”

“We are happy with the outcome and look forward to continuing to show what a fantastic school Stanwick Primary is.”

Stanwick is the third primary school in the Nene Education Trust to have been inspected by Ofsted this year and rated ‘GOOD’. This is both a testament to the strong school leadership that is thriving under the Trust, and the high quality of teachers and teaching support.

Chris Hill, Chief Executive of the Nene Education Trust, said: “At the Nene Education Trust, we take great pride in our role of raising aspirations for pupils and their families in the communities we serve and this feedback from Ofsted is a fantastic testament to that.”

Kindness Week & World Book Day at Stanwick

Stanwick Academy took part in a kindness week where they had daily focusses on spreading kind words between the children in the school, as well as the wider community. The children wrote letters to each other to highlight the brilliant attributes each child gives to the school, whilst the Reception children made their way round the village spreading kind words to those they met along the way.
